PSAT INFORMATION and DATES
The Preliminary SAT (PSAT)is given throughout the country in mid-October. The PSAT is primarily aimed at college-bound juniors, although many sophomores take it for the learning experience. For a few students, this is the test that determines National Merit Scholarship eligibility
For the vast majority of students, the PSAT serves to help identify problem areas before taking the SAT. Unlike the SAT, the PSAT does not contain a written essay and the math content goes through Geometry, not Algebra II like the SAT.
