If this sounds like you, come work with Bill Ames in late summer and early fall with the goal of making National Merit and/or taking the SAT in the fall.
This special tutoring program includes working individually with Bill Ames, the founder of Ames Seminars, as well as practice tests and reviews. Most students will have 8 to 10 private sessions; if students need to improve their scores on only one part of the test, there will likely be fewer sessions.
These sessions are for excellent students who are willing to do the work necessary to excel. We will be working with actual SAT tests, which we will provide.
These special sessions usually begin in July.
Students select a time slot each week (for example, Tuesday at 3 pm). If a student needs to start earlier or later in the summer or needs to miss a session, we can be flexible. Most students choose to come once a week, though some opt for twice a week. Most of the sessions should be completed before school starts so the tutoring will not impact the start of junior year. The last two sessions will be in September and October, just prior to the tests.
Included in the program (no additional fees):
- A PSAT practice test: -- Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 9 am – 11:30 am
- A group review session of the PSAT practice test on Sunday, October 10, 2010 4 pm - 6:00 pm
- A full-length SAT practice test (several dates available)
